The 23rd All India Inter School and Senior Karate Championship concluded today with phenomenal success and national acclaim at the iconic Tana Bhagat Stadium, Ranchi. The championship recorded an overwhelming participation of more than 1500 athletes from 17 states, making it one of the largest karate sporting events in the country this year.
For two intense and electrifying days, the stadium echoed with the spirit of competition, discipline and unity as young warriors and senior champions displayed extraordinary skill, sportsmanship and dedication on the tatami. The championship featured a wide spectrum of events including kata and kumite across multiple age groups and weight categories, creating a festival of martial arts that celebrated both technique and tradition.
The championship stood as a shining symbol of national integration through sports, bringing together athletes from diverse cultural backgrounds under the banner of the Seishinkai Karate family, strengthening bonds of brotherhood, respect and mutual admiration.
The event was honoured by the gracious presence of Shri Sanjay Seth, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. His stirring address motivated the athletes to pursue excellence, discipline and national pride through sports.
A defining pillar of the championship was the presence of Hanshi Premjit Sen, one of the most respected and influential figures in Indian karate. A master instructor, international referee, veteran sports administrator and mentor of champions, Hanshi Premjit Sen’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the championship’s stature and credibility. His lifelong service to Indian karate continues to nurture talent and guide the future of martial arts in the country.
The championship was further elevated by the presence of Eminent Sports Administrator and Social Worker Shri Jagdish Singh “Jaggu”, a true inspiration to the sporting community.
