In an era where startup success stories are often measured by billion-dollar valuations and overnight disruption, Vineet Ramani’s journey tells a different tale. At 29, this entrepreneur from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has quietly built an ecosystem spanning four cities, touching thousands of lives while staying true to a philosophy that seems almost revolutionary in its simplicity: educate before you sell.
Vineet’s story begins far from the gleaming startup hubs of Bangalore or Gurgaon. After completing his marketing degree from Mumbai’s prestigious Jai Hind College and specializing at IIDE Institute, he could have easily followed his peers into corporate careers or joined his dad’s business. Instead, he saw something others missed—a massive digital divide leaving entire business communities behind. While everyone celebrated India’s digital revolution, local businesses in Tier-2 cities struggled with basics like websites, social media presence, and online customer engagement.
When COVID-19 forced businesses worldwide to pivot online, Vineet’s moment arrived. Armed with nothing more than a laptop and an educator’s mindset, he launched Vaya Media from his living room in 2020. His approach was refreshingly different from typical digital marketing agencies. Instead of overwhelming potential clients with jargon-heavy proposals, he would sit down with local business owners, analyze competitors together, break down campaign metrics in simple terms, and demonstrate exactly how platforms like Instagram could transform browsers into buyers.
This hands-on, educational approach proved golden. Today, Vaya Media boasts an impressive 85% client retention rate and serves brands across India, the UK, and the USA with a 70-member team spread across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Raipur. I realized that sustainable business isn’t about pushing your services on people,” Vineet explains. “It’s about educating them to see the value for themselves—when they understand the ‘why,’ the ‘what’ becomes obvious.
As Vaya Media expanded, a familiar challenge emerged: the shortage of skilled digital marketing talent in smaller cities. Rather than relocating to larger talent hubs, Vineet devised an innovative solution. In 2022, he founded VIDA Institute—not just another online course platform, but a comprehensive skill-building ecosystem with a 100% placement guarantee. VIDA students don’t merely learn theory; they work on live Vaya Media projects, gaining real-world experience while contributing to actual campaigns.
The results speak volumes: over 300 students trained, 100% placement rate, and graduates earning 40-60% higher salaries than their peers in the region. “If you can’t find skilled people, build them,” Vineet says with characteristic simplicity. “Give them proper training, fair compensation, and real opportunities.”
Vineet’s hunger for knowledge led him to pursue an MBA at London’s Birkbeck University—a decision that might have derailed many entrepreneurs. Instead, it became the launchpad for his next venture. From London, he successfully launched Vikings Real Estate, applying his transparency-first approach to an industry notorious for opacity. This international perspective, combined with grassroots understanding, has given him a unique edge.
Never one to rest on achievements, Vineet recently ventured into thought leadership with the Hijack Podcast, featuring conversations with policymakers, founders and entrepreneurs.. Recent guests include Minister Nitish Mishra, with upcoming episodes featuring prominent Tier-2 entrepreneurs. “Knowledge shouldn’t be hoarded,” he reflects. “The more we share what we’ve learned, the stronger our ecosystem becomes.”
What sets Vineet apart in an industry obsessed with rapid scaling is his definition of success. For him, it’s not about team size or revenue numbers—it’s about the VIDA graduate landing their dream job, the local Raipur business that quadrupled revenue through digital transformation, or the podcast listener inspired to start their own venture. “Success has never been about recognition for me,” he says thoughtfully. “It’s about how many people you lift up along the way.”
Vineet’s business philosophy remains refreshingly straightforward: purpose over profit, sustainable growth over quick wins, lasting relationships over fleeting transactions. This approach permeates every aspect of his ventures, from hiring based on motivation and values rather than degrees, to treating his team as co-visionaries rather than employees.
As Vineet continues expanding his ecosystem of education, digital marketing, real estate, and media, his focus remains unchanged: bridging gaps, building capabilities, and creating opportunities where none existed before. In a world driven by viral trends and quick fixes, he stands as testament to the power of consistent effort, genuine relationships, and building businesses that solve real problems for real people. His story proves that meaningful impact doesn’t always come from Silicon Valley unicorns—sometimes, it emerges from small-town vision and an unwavering commitment to lifting others as you climb.
