Tripura, February 18, 2026: In a significant step towards strengthening community support systems, Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia on Wednesday distributed catering utensil sets to 201 beneficiaries under the 20–Killa Bagma District Council Constituency.

The distribution programme was held at Noabari, Killa, covering 18 ADC areas. The beneficiaries included paras, local groups, hostels, and churches, and the initiative was implemented through the MDC CDF Fund.

Addressing the media, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia said that the primary objective of the initiative is to empower communities socially and economically. He stated that many villages often struggle during social events and festivals due to the lack of cooking and catering utensils.

“Through the media, I would like to thank everyone watching. We are distributing catering utensil items to all villages in the Killa Bagma ADC constituency. Around 201 paras, groups, and churches are being covered. The main purpose is to strengthen social unity. During various social programmes and festivals, many villages face difficulties due to a lack of cooking materials. Therefore, we felt it was necessary to provide kitchen sets,” he said.

He further added that many families in the region are economically weak and cannot afford to collect funds for such equipment. Hence, the MDC CDF Fund is being utilized to support them.

CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia also highlighted that the initiative is being carried out under the guidance of royal scion Bubagra Pradyot Manikya, aiming to strengthen grassroots communities and ensure inclusive development across ADC areas.

Highlighting the priorities of the TTAADC administration, the CEM said that since coming to power, emphasis has been placed on strengthening social structures and improving economic conditions in ADC areas.

Local beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the initiative. Members of the Killa VC Youth Catering Group said they were very happy to receive the catering items, adding that it would help them generate income in the future.

A resident from Pitra Village under SB Nagar VC said that people across communities—church groups, Hindu villages, and individuals from different political backgrounds—have all benefited from the distribution. “We are very happy and thankful to CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia for this support,” he said.

Another beneficiary expressed surprise at the scale of the distribution, saying that such a large number of catering items being provided was beyond expectation.

The initiative is expected to not only support community events but also create opportunities for local youth to engage in income-generating activities through catering services.
