Besides talent and skill, it demands many others, and luck plays a major role in the game. We have the story of Dwaipayan Singha, an audio engineer based out of Bangalore who is now doing wonders in the music industry.
Dwaipayan Singha, a full-time mixing engineer and audio engineer, has ventured into music since childhood. He developed a great interest in music and enjoys listening to songs, composing tunes, and singing them to his friends. His sense of music and how he used to listen to a song from a different perspective turned his hobby into interest and planted a desire and ambition in Dwaipayana’s heart to pursue music as his career.
After mastering the basics and required prerequisites, he started his career in music at an early age by working as an assistant recording engineer for various studios in Kolkata. This provided him an insight and gave him a chance to observe the industry, how things go, and how types of equipment are used. In the later years, he decided to start a studio to offer the services at affordable charges and help the aspiring musicians and playback singers to bring out their outputs in an efficient way at an economical price. He turned his bedroom into a flamboyant music studio naming it ‘Suspicious Records India.’ This, in turn, helped many musicians and artists to edit and arrange music for their projects.
After a long period of 10 years working as a session engineer and freelancing for numerous musicians, he decided to move towards future endeavours. He shifted to Bangalore to start his studio “Back Road Studios” in Kalyan Nagar. His interest in technology and the latest gadgets influenced him to design his studio so that it’s filled with state-of-the-art equipment. A Chennai-based company does acoustics work. Besides managing his studio and working as an audio engineer, he also runs a production house and audio digital distribution services that are now in the race and the major competitors.
He has worked on over 200 singles, advertisements, and albums in more than seven different languages in his career. He recently signed two Kannada Feature Films as a music director.
