The Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT) Civil Defence Society (SHAURYAM) successfully organized a three-day practical session on Fire Safety and First Aid from March 3 to March 5, 2025. Held at the College Auditorium (Wing-B), the event aimed to educate students about fire prevention, safety measures, and essential first-aid techniques. A total of 120 students actively participated, gaining hands-on experience in disaster management and emergency response.
The event began with an inaugural address by Mr.Amit Kumar, who highlighted the importance of fire safety and first aid in daily life. He introduced students to different fire hazards, causes of fire outbreaks, and preventive measures. The session also featured a live fire extinguisher demonstration, allowing students to learn proper firefighting techniques. 150 students from diverse courses, including BA LLB, BBA LLB, BBA(G), BCA, B.COM, BA Economics, LLM, and B.Ed, attended this session.
The second day focused on practical first aid training.Mr.Amit Kumar and his team demonstrated CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), bleeding control, and burn injury management. Students participated in fire evacuation drills and learned how to respond to earthquakes and gas leaks. The hands-on approach helped 100 students develop confidence in handling medical emergencies.
On the final day, a full-scale fire emergency drill was conducted. Students were divided into teams handling evacuation, fire suppression, and casualty management.Mr.Amit Kumar evaluated their performance and provided feedback. The session concluded with a Q&A session and the distribution of participation certificates.
