Kerala’s Secret Migraine Oil, Lokamrit, Enters Indian Market for the First Time

For decades, whispers about a rare Ayurvedic oil circulated among wellness travelers in Kerala. Known simply as Lokamrit, this concentrated herbal roll-on was said to offer long-lasting relief from migraine and severe headaches. But for years, Indian customers couldn’t buy it—every batch was exported abroad.

Now, after trade changes and supply shifts, Lokamrit is finally entering the Indian market for the very first time.

A formula rooted in Kerala’s heritage

Lokamrit traces its origin to Kerala’s traditional Ayurvedic practices, where local healers formulated a potent blend of seasonal herbs to address chronic headaches. What set it apart, the brand says, was both rarity of ingredients and concentration.

“Lokamrit was never mass-produced,” says a spokesperson for the company. “Its herbs are grown in specific regions and harvested in narrow seasonal windows. Each roll-on represents careful handwork.”

From export-only to Indian shelves

Until recently, almost every bottle of Lokamrit went overseas—primarily to the United States and the Middle East. Stories circulated of foreign visitors lining up outside Ayurvedic centers in Kerala just to secure a tiny 3 ml vial.

But with trade disruptions altering supply routes, the makers of Lokamrit decided to reserve a portion of their production for the Indian market.

“This is not just another oil,” the spokesperson adds. “For years, Indians had to hear about it second-hand. Now, it’s finally available here—though still in limited quantities.”

Small bottle, big claims

Lokamrit comes in a 3 ml roll-on, priced at ₹549. In a market where migraine oils and roll-ons typically retail for ₹200–₹300 in larger sizes, the pricing raises eyebrows.

The brand, however, frames it as quality over quantity.

  • Concentrated formula: A little goes a long way.

  • Premium packaging: Dark glass vial with gold-accented branding.

  • Limited stock: Controlled release to preserve exclusivity.

Early buyers describe Lokamrit as both a wellness tool and a status product. On social media, unboxing reels and temple-application shots are trending with hashtags like #LokamritOil and #RareAyurveda.

What users are saying

While Lokamrit is not a medical treatment, anecdotal stories fuel its popularity.

“I’ve struggled with migraines since college,” says Rahul Mehra, a Bangalore-based content creator. “A friend in Dubai once sent me a bottle, and I was hooked. The cooling roll-on and herbal scent made me feel lighter almost instantly. I never thought I’d be able to buy it in India.”

Such testimonials are driving both curiosity and credibility around the product.

Availability

Lokamrit is being rolled out through the company’s official website with limited monthly stock. The makers emphasize that production remains small-batch, and availability may vary depending on harvest yields.

“Exclusivity is part of our promise,” the team states. “When stocks run out, they truly run out until the next batch is ready.”
