Ever wondered if an outsider can truly dream of making a mark in an industry where godfathers and networks often rule? Meet Manprit Rayat — a casting director and talent manager whose journey proves that passion, persistence, and sheer grit can rewrite the rules of the game.
For over 12 years, Manprit has been an active force in the world of fashion and commercial advertising, with an impressive repertoire of over 250 brands to his credit. But his career took a defining turn in 2021, when he was brought on board for India’s biggest music show – Coke Studio Bharat (Season 1). Despite being diagnosed with cancer during this period, Manprit refused to step back. Instead, he traveled across half of India, scouting fresh talent and immersing himself in diverse cultures, determined to deliver his best.
That project not only earned him recognition but also sparked his foray into the music industry. Following Coke Studio, Manprit bagged T-Series’ much-anticipated project “SongCraft – Season 2”, where he spearheaded the casting for 10 music videos. The series, slated for a Diwali 2025 release, boasts celebrated names like Madhubanti Bagchi, Mohan Kanan, Adnan Sami, and Papon, showcasing Manprit’s ability to bridge big names with fresh talent.
Before “SongCraft 2,” Manprit was already building a footprint in music videos. His project “Gum”, sung by Qaaz and Aditya Sreeram, featured Kanikka Kapur and Milind Manek, earning praise for its casting choices. His latest release, “Jhalak”, dropped just last week. Composed by Samarpit Golani and starring Jitesh Nikam and Harshini Venkatesh, the video is already making waves.
Coming from an advertising background, Manprit’s seamless transition into mainstream music reflects the determination of a small-town dreamer who refuses to stop at limitations. His dedication, rebellious spirit, and never-give-up attitude are not only helping him push boundaries but also making bold statements in an industry that often sidelines outsiders.
As he continues to add feathers to his cap, one thing is clear — Manprit Rayat is unstoppable, and the industry hasn’t seen the best of him yet.
