On Day-1, Four Villages Covered, Hundreds of Villages Benefitted with Government Schemes

Fazilka, August 13, 2022, To reach out to the residents of 30 remote villages adjacent to India-Pak international border under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Fazilka District Administration has devised a novel way by organising special AABAD camps in these villages.
     Divulging the details after launching the scheme in the name of ‘Mission AABAD  30 (Absolute Boarder Area Development)’ at Dhandi Kadim, Chak Wajida, Hastan Kalan and Mahatam Nagar villages of Jalalabad and Fazilka assembly segments, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that the idea behind the launching of these aabad camps is to provide all the facilities related to comprehensive infrastructure, social and economic development and beneficiary schemes at the doorstep. He said the response was overwhelming on Day-1 hundreds of residents thronged to these camps for getting benefits. he said that such aabad camps will also be organized in all these 30 boarder villages in near future.
     Fazilka MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna, who joined the camp at village Mahatam Nagar, appreciating the efforts of district administration said that the initiative would bridge the gap between the public and government and be helpful to resolve the problems of border area residents. He said that instead of going to the offices, the administration will be reaching the people in their villages to provide government services. He said that more such camps will be organized in other villages in the coming days.
   Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal added that the services provided in these camps included caste certificate, residence certificate, rural area certificate, border area certificate, pension related facilities, health department related facilities, work related to rural development department and MGNREGA, water supply and sanitation department benefits and Aadhaar card related services.
SSP Bhupinder Singh said that except providing department related services, police personnel also sensitised the youth for recruitment in police. On this occasion, the BSF personnel informed the people of these border villages about the threat perception of drones coming from across the international border and and asked them to report it to the security agencies, and also made aware the youth of these villages about recruitment in the Indian Army and BSF.
    On this occasion, Mrs. Sophia Kamboj appreciated the initiative of the Punjab government and said that it will provide a lot of convenience to the people and their official work will be done in the village itself.
Hundreds of  people were provided government services and certificates on the spot during these camps. On raising demand of sports infrastructure in Dhandi Kadeem village, the Deputy Commissioner immediately ordered the Rural Development Department to develop the sports ground in the village and to provide sports kits to the youth. Similarly, the problem of lack of patwari was also redressed by the deputy commissioner on the spot by ordering the post of patwari was posted in the village.
    Similarly, on receiving the demand for upgrading the school and sports ground in Mahatam Nagar, the village panchayat was asked to submit a resolution.
    Apart from this, the Agriculture Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Fisheries Department, Cooperation Department and the State Rural Livelihood Mission also provided information about various government schemes to the people in these camps.
   Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Harcharan Singh, SDM Amanpal Singh, DDPO Sukhpal Singh were also present on the occasion.
