Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Neena Singh’s artistic journey blossomed amidst the cultural richness of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. A true polymath, she dons various hats as a professional Artist, Author, Art Conservator, Art Critic, Academician, and a retired Additional Senior Chemist. Her multifaceted career trajectory includes a stint as a chemist at the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board, followed by a decade-long tenure in teaching.
Despite her diverse career pursuits, Neena’s passion for art remained unwavering. Even in the midst of professional responsibilities, her creative spirit found expression in a myriad of artistic endeavors, from cooking to fabric painting, Rangoli to gardening.
It was in 2014, upon her move to Pune, that Neena Singh’s true artistic odyssey commenced. Enrolling in art classes, she delved deep into the nuances of color theory, immersed herself in the annals of art history, and pursued a Masters in Painting from Raja Man Singh Tomar University, Gwalior. Today, she calls Pune her home, operating from her studio, Neena Art Studio, and sharing her wealth of knowledge as a visiting faculty member at MIT ADT University and Deccan College in Pune.
Driven by an insatiable thirst for learning, Neena Singh boasts an impressive array of academic credentials. With an M.Phil in Chemistry and Master’s degrees in Chemistry, Ecology & Environment, and Fine Arts, she embodies the spirit of lifelong learning. She further honed her skills as a trained art conservator from the National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property in Lucknow.
