'Bombay (Mumbai) Commerce Educational Institute Association' is an association of computer typing and shorthand institutions in Mumbai that has been operating for the last six to seven decades. Through these educational institutions, till date, employment opportunities have been provided to the youth of the state, semi-government and private businesses not only in the state but also in the country. Through this, lakhs of young men and women are getting jobs as excellent shorthand writers, clerks, typists and data entry operators in government, semi-government banks, corporations and private sectors.
There are a total of 150 government-approved computer typing and shorthand institutions in the three divisions of Mumbai district, East, West and South. It is a matter of real pride that many needy people are getting employment today through this institution. For all these institutions, the Bombay (Mumbai) Commerce Educational Institute Association is an organization that constantly follows up with the Education Inspector's Office, Brihanmumbai South Division, West Division, North Division, as well as the Sub-Divisional Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai Division Office, Charni Road Road, as well as the Maharashtra State Examination Council, Pune, from time to time.
In 2017, the government decided to phase out manual typing in phases and the institution's directors made their debut in the computer era. There was some confusion due to the changes in the booming business, but the institution's directors recovered and started working vigorously by accepting new technology again. But due to the lack of government recruitment and job opportunities, the number of students in the institution was very low. An important part in terms of increasing the number of students is the chairman Dr. who has complete knowledge about typing and shorthand, the institution and the curriculum.
It is truly commendable that after Shri Nandkumar Bedse (IAS) took over as the Chairman of the Examination Council, he made many significant changes in the field of computer typing and curbed the malpractices in the examination, LMS software, biometric attendance, and CCTV cameras in the institution. In order to provide complete information about the changes made in this regard to the institution administrators, the Mumbai organization organized a workshop on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the auditorium of Sane Guruji Vidyalaya School, Santacruz, Mumbai. The chairmanship of this workshop was given to Dr. Shri Nandkumar Bedse Saheb and Shri. Santosh Kante Assistant Sub-Inspector of Education North Division, Mrs. Hemlata Gavit Sub-Inspector of Education West Division and Mrs. Sangeeta Mane Sub-Inspector of Education South Division were also called. So that the pending issues regarding renewal institution migration approval and institution would be resolved immediately.
The institution administrators of the department attended in large numbers and presented their problems to the Chairman of the Examination Council, Divisional Sub-Inspector and they were resolved. At that time, the President of Bombay Mumbai Commerce Educational Institute Association, Shri Prabhakar Dumble, Secretary Shri Deepak Patil, Treasurer Vikram Savarkar and members Shri Ashok Abhyankar, Gopal Krishnan, Vinay Rane, Khemraj Singh Dhanik, Deepak Kharat, Parvati Shinde, Sarita Tawde, Rajan Thakur, Satish Pawar were present. The workshop was coordinated very well by the representative of the organization, Shri Vinay Rane. Finally, the organization is for the organization. Also, the chief guest of the workshop, the Chairman of Maharashtra State Examination Council, Dr. Shri Nandkumar Bedse (IAS), gave guidance and some special instructions to all the institution managers and education department officials present at the meeting. Valuable guidance was given to the institution managers regarding the pending renovation of the institution and measures to curb unauthorized institutions.
