Romanian Director Richard Stan Releases Music Video with West Coast Legend Daz Dillinger (Tha Dogg Pound)

The Mentally Crazy video is a cinematic exploration of the human mind on the edge of lucidity and madness. Richard Stan’s visual universe is built from intense psychological symbols: mirrors reflecting fragmented identities, the presence of zombies as manifestations of inner trauma, and the inevitable confrontation with one’s own demons. In the final scene, set in a psychiatric office, Romanian actress Cristina Florea plays the role of the doctor, symbolically linking Hollywood and Romania.

A unique aspect of the project is that the filming took place in the director’s own garage, with Richard Stan personally handling every stage: concept, direction, filming, editing, and visual effects, transforming a mundane space into a complex cinematic universe.

“I’m proud to have had the opportunity to work with such a legend—someone whose posters I had on my walls as a teenager and whose music I listened to every day. The fact that these artists, whom I once considered untouchable, now step into my home and come to my garage to work with me is an experience I never imagined I would have. As soon as I heard Mentally Crazy, I immediately felt its energy—it took me less than a day to outline the concept. Everything came naturally and grabbed me from the first moment. I’m extremely grateful that Daz trusted my vision, and I’m confident that the result will leave a strong mark both on my career and in the history of hip-hop.”
