New Delhi [India], May 14: On 13th May 2025, the National President of Abhinav Bharat Party, Chetan Sharma, addressed a press conference at the Press Club of India, New Delhi. He announced that on the occasion of the 132nd birth anniversary of the great revolutionary Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on 28th May, a 30-day “Savarkar Samman Yatra” will be undertaken from Bhagur (Nashik) to Delhi. This Yatra will pass through 100 districts across 20 states of the country.

Referring to the tragic incident on 22nd April 2025 in Pahalgam (Kashmir), where innocent Hindu tourists were brutally killed in front of their wives and children after being identified by their religion, Chetan Sharma said that the memory of Veer Savarkar compels us to recall his vision that India must become a “Hindu Rashtra” (Hindu Nation). A strong and empowered Hindu Rashtra alone can ensure the country’s progress and security. He stated that the Abhinav Bharat Party supports the retaliatory actions taken by the current government and deeply appreciates the armed forces for their bold response against the enemy nation. The party firmly believes that the Indian government must ensure the total annihilation of the enemy nation, or else such terrorist activities will continue to recur, as history has shown over the past 75 years. Chetan Sharma strongly emphasized that in the current national context, Veer Savarkar—an inspiration for all Hindus—deserves to be honored with the Bharat Ratna. The Savarkar Samman Yatra is being organized with this resolution. The party demands from the Government of India that Veer Savarkar be awarded the Bharat Ratna. A memorandum supporting this demand will be submitted to the President of India through the district authorities in every district that the Yatra passes through.

The detailed itinerary of the Yatra will be shared with local media and press representatives from time to time.

The second major announcement made during today’s press conference was that inspired by the goals of the Savarkar Samman Yatra and the vision of Abhinav Bharat Party, former National General Secretary of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha and wrongly accused patriot in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case, Major Ramesh Chandra Upadhyay, has accepted primary membership of the Abhinav Bharat Party.

Chetan Sharma also announced that Major Ramesh Chandra Upadhyay will take up the responsibilities of National Organizing Secretary and National Spokesperson of the party. National General Secretary Mrs. Mamata Jha and National Vice President Mrs. Chitra Dalal were also present at the press conference.
