Band-It 2025 Regionals Unite Over 5,000 Students in a Nationwide Celebration of Talent
The regional rounds of Band-It 2025 concluded on a high note, bringing together thousands of young performers from schools across India. As the country’s largest inter-school performing arts competition, Band-It once again demonstrated its ability to nurture creativity, discipline, and stage confidence among students.
Spanning 11 cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Noida, the regional events welcomed participation from more than 400 schools and over 5,000 students. Each city showcased a vibrant mix of musical, dance, and theatrical performances, reflecting the diversity and depth of India’s student talent.
From soulful vocal performances and intricate instrumental pieces to energetic dance routines and expressive speech and drama acts, the regional rounds highlighted how performing arts contribute meaningfully to students’ personal and emotional growth.
Furtados School of Music: Building a Stage for Every Child
Organised by Furtados School of Music (FSM), Band-It is rooted in a legacy that dates back to 1865. Over the decades, FSM has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s music education landscape, expanding into structured learning, digital platforms, and large-scale performance initiatives.
Band-It’s evolution from a music competition to a full-fledged performing arts festival reflects FSM’s belief that artistic expression is an essential part of education. By offering students a professional stage experience, Band-It encourages confidence, collaboration, and creative discipline.
Global Schools Group Joins as Official Partner
The 2025 edition was further strengthened by a landmark partnership with Global Schools Group (GSG). As one of the world’s leading education networks, GSG’s involvement expanded Band-It’s reach across India through its extensive school network and internationally recognised curricula.
GSG schools, including Witty International, Glendale, and GIIS, also hosted several regional rounds, providing modern infrastructure and high-quality performance spaces. Under the leadership of Mr. Atul Temurnikar, Founder, and Mr. Rajeev Koul, Deputy COO, GSG continues to advocate for holistic education that blends academics with arts and experiential learning.
A Vision Sustained by Leadership and Legacy
The success of Band-It is driven by the leadership of Dharini Upadhyaya and Tanuja Gomes, whose vision has transformed the platform into a journey of growth rather than just a competition. Their focus on structured learning and meaningful performance opportunities ensures lasting impact for students and educators alike.
With continued support from Anthony Gomes and Joseph Gomes, Band-It remains firmly rooted in the values of the Furtados legacy, inspiring thousands of students to pursue their artistic passions.
As Band-It 2025 heads toward its Grand Finale, the regional rounds reaffirm a powerful message — India’s future performers are confident, creative, and ready to take centre stage.
