New Delhi: Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shyam Chetan Puri Ji gets felicitated with the National Icon Award 2024 by Prominent Political leader Shri Fagan Singh Kulaste. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shyam Chetan Puri Ji Maharaj does not need any introduction. His articulate voice, clarity of thought, and courageous ideas have guided many people, inspiring them to move from darkness towards light. He has dedicated his life to exploring various aspects of spirituality. Despite holding a diploma in mechanical engineering and working for a renowned company, he left his home in 1990 to embark on a spiritual journey.
Prior to taking sannyas (renunciation), he was known as Bhagwan Das. His early devotion to Bhagwan (God) was evident, and after passing the 12th-grade examination with mathematics, he pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering. However, driven by a strong sense of renunciation, he took his first initiation from Swami Chandan Puri Bengali Baba on the banks of the Narmada river. Following the guidance of his parents, he undertook the Narmada parikrama (circumambulation) twice. After having a dream of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shiv Chetan Puri, he walked 1000 kilometers to reach Vrindavan, where he sought refuge in Swamiji’s guidance.
Swami Ji now holds the position of Mahamandaleshwar in the Akhara of Shankar Peeth in Vrindavan. He is a prominent figure in ashrams across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.
