Manya Harsha, a remarkable young environmentalist from Bangalore, recently embarked on an impactful 18-day road trip covering the span from Bangalore to Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Taking the lead in the “Voice for the VOICELESS, #straylifematters” campaign under the Sunshine Children for Change initiative, Manya made an enduring impact on animal welfare and environmental consciousness. Beyond her road trip, Manya, as the founder of Sunshine Environment magazine, has been actively involved in organizing workshops, seminars, cleanup drives, and plantation initiatives. During her cross-country journey, she not only advocated for stray cattle but also initiated tangible change by tossing over 2000 seed balls across 12 states and one union territory, contributing to a greener, more sustainable planet.
In her recent mission to the Pench Tiger Reserve, Manya, through her Youth for Wildlife Conservation campaign, passionately championed the #savetiger initiative. Her unwavering dedication and active involvement in workshops, seminars, and social media advocacy at Pench served as a rallying call for wildlife protection. Manya’s efforts underscore her commitment to conservation and highlight the impactful contribution an individual can make in safeguarding our planet’s endangered species.
Manya’s SUNSHINE – Children for Change Campaign showcases her dedication to environmental causes. To date, she has distributed 8000 saplings, 9000+ sustainable bags, planted 7600 saplings, and thrown over 8000 seed bombs during her travels. Additionally, Manya has organized numerous cleanups, removing nearly 200 kgs of plastic waste from various water bodies, forests, highways, and city roads.
Despite her young age, Manya exhibits remarkable maturity and vision. Her ability to mobilize and inspire others sets her apart, as she successfully engages her peers, adults, and local businesses, creating a ripple effect that extends the reach and impact of her environmental endeavors. Manya Harsha is a true champion for a greener, safer planet, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of environmental activism.
