OLF- A journey from delivering one to one million meals on train

OLF is a food in train delivery initiative born and incepted in Gwalior MP, by brother Duo Dharampal Jadoun and Sanjay Jadoun in 2017. OLF was initiated with the vision to provide train passengers with high-quality food that is absolutely delicious and remains top on hygiene. OLF is an IRCTC authorized e-catering partner and ensures that travelers get hygienic, economical, and fresh meals. The app distributes meals from restaurants that have been certified by the FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) to more than 200 stations across India. Currently, the ecatering platform partners with over a network of 600+ renowned restaurants approved by FSSAI.

The Jadoun brothers meticulously chose each restaurant that offers various food options to customers at PAN India level. OLF provides food options covering all segments, including North Indian Food, South Indian food, Chinese food, Jain Food, Pure vegetarian food, and Non-Vegetarian Food.

OLF is now branching out into onboard catering. OLF will fulfill all meal requests on passenger trains with this innovative brand idea. This would alleviate the misery of railway passengers who used to rely on alternative food vending services during their journey.

Customers can enter their 10 digit PNR number, choose boarding station, date of the journey, and restaurants available at the nearest radius will pop on their screens. Place the order, and piping hot food will be delivered right at their train seat.

Plans to grow

 A journey that started with delivering meals at 5 stations has now expanded at 200+ stations across the country! Currently, OLF is delivering across 200+ railway stations. The founder quotes that they plan to grow and extend their network of vendors, restaurants, and cities by 2022, as they move ahead to target 1000+ cities and take them on a delicious train ride.

Keeping hygiene of top-notch quality is OLF’s impetus to growth. The team at OLF plans to level up delivery services and assures that customers will soon have an option of rating restaurants on their preference and hygiene-wise ratings. 

Technological advancements-

OLF works on the tech first approach and believes that the Tech team is their backbone, and rightly so! It is more challenging than the home and office food delivery because of moving the target where the passenger is travelling in the train.

Their in-house tech team takes full charge of developing the technology architecture, APIs, microservices, scheduling mechanisms, User, Partner Application, and Live running train status using deep data science, AI and ML. To make the user experience more user-friendly and smooth, OLF plans to make the interface more technology-enabled. Their product and tech professionals are working on a model where users can directly place the food order in train via WhatsApp Bot.
