The GTH Alumni Excellency Award for 2024 honors Vignesh Velappan for his remarkable contributions to youth empowerment and sustainable development. As a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Vignesh has shown not only academic excellence but also exceptional leadership in extracurricular activities.
Vignesh’s Seyal Foundation, established a year and a half ago, has rapidly grown into one of India’s leading youth-run organizations. With initiatives that have earned six national titles, supported over 13,000 families, and sponsored education for 28 students, his foundation also manages 48 orphanages, providing care and support to those in need. Beyond his philanthropic efforts, Vignesh has delivered five TED talks, inspiring over 2,000 young people. His involvement in debates, motivational sessions, and Model United Nations highlights his dedication to advocacy. This award is a recognition of his tireless efforts to empower the next generation and promote the SDGs, establishing Vignesh as a true leader of change.
